Jesus spent much time in prayer. He withdrew from the crowds and went alone to pray. At times He would arise a great while before day in order to spend the early morning hours in prayer. At other times He would spend a whole night in prayer. Before breaking bread He prayed and gave thanks to his Father. The prayer life of Jesus was constant. He also exhorted His disciples to pray. Jesus focalized his praying in behalf of His disciples. His memorable prayer is recorded in the seventeenth chapter of John. Jesus not only prayed for his disciples of that day, but He prayed for His disciples for all the years to come.
